As you all have probably heard, CM Punk is considering leaving the WWE. Reports say that the reason to this is because he wants commitment to his character, which he isn’t getting. This past week at the Capitol Punishment PPV after defeating Rey Mysterio, Punk stated he would tell us all the truth and had something monumental planned which would be announced on RAW.

CM Punk’s contract with the WWE is up on the 17th July 2011, and it’s been reported and rumoured all year round that Punk hasn’t renewed. Punk had a meeting with officials and refused to renew his contract, which indicates Punk is actually serious about leaving. This has been talk since the start of the year, many believe he’ll leave and come back after a hiatus or resign the last minute…no one believes he’s leaving and never coming back, or leaving and going to another company. Punk’s problem with the WWE is that he wants commitment to his character, the sort of commitment people like Cena and Orton are getting, and who can argue? Punk deserves it. Incredibly Punk won his first PPV match at Captiol Punishment against Rey Mysterio, which was his first PPV win since Extreme Rules 2010!
Punk has been praised and criticise by others for his work, attitude and commitment. Punk is definitely one of the best heels in the WWE, and they know it will be a huge loss if Punk was to leave. This past Monday, Punk became the new No.1 Contender for John Cena’s WWE Championship and will face him at the Money In The Bank PPV on (July 17th). Punk then announced to the world that his Contract is indeed expiring on the 17th and he IS leaving, but with the WWE Championship.
I personally believe it is now a fluke and CM Punk is not leaving…why? Because, why would they give someone (apart from retirements) a title match, main event at a PPV is they were indeed leaving. Normally when someone’s contract is coming to an end and hasn’t been renewed in the WWE, they either let them just disappear or have a storyline’d exit such as an injury angle (like they did with Jericho). I honestly doubt that WWE would have someone be on top and just have them walk out, unless they actually care about Punk that much they will let him leave on top, but that goes to question…why aren’t they fulfilling his needs of commitment? Punk winning the title and leaving would be shocking and confusing, but we could actually see Punk winning at MITB.
The fluke could be, WWE want to mess with the internet fans in thinking Punk will be leaving, but then putting the title on him would then question and possible shock those fans (which is rare to do these days) and have him come out the next night on RAW been him heel self making a joke of the fans. They could put the belt on him and have the RAW MITB winner cash in on him that night and then it’s bye bye Punk. BUT, I believe (and I hope others are with me) that this indicated Punk is getting what he wants therefore the WWE hope he resigns. Hell, it wouldn’t be the same without Punk.
What would add confusion to the whole thing is how WWE play out the feud with Punk and Cena over the next few weeks. But everyone can be sure that this isn’t the last we see of Punk in the WWE, weather he leaves or not.

Do CM Punk’s Familiar Cryptic Messages Confirm His Retirement?

What a hetic week it has been in the WWE. On Raw we discovered that Punk’s last match will be against John Cena at the second annual Money In The Bank PPV on July 17th.

What is most interesting about this story is that before Punk was with WWE he was with Ring Of Honor and days before a ROH event, Punk wrote to his fans : “I knew I was gone at the beginning of the year. I just woke up one day and knew. That’s the way I work a lot of the time. I think it’s creepy too, but it’s really helpful. I honestly knew I’d be history by June. Come say goodbye on Saturday, I promise to go out with a bang. Trust me. XxX.” Read more after the break.

Punk defeated Austin Aries to win the ROH World Championship and remained with the organization for an additional two months.

Then this past Monday night , Punk wrote on Twitter regarding his “departure” from WWE: “I knew I was gone at the beginning of the year. I just woke up one day and I knew. That’s the way I work a lot of the time. I think it’s creepy too, but it’s really helpful. I knew I’d be history by July. Come say goodbye on July 17th. I promise to go out with a bang. Trust me. XxX

This is definitely creepy, but also very interesting. Will history repeat itself on July 17, allowing CM Punk to become the new WWE Champion? This scenario plays out perfectly if you think about it. If we wins and stays with the company for an additional two months, he’ll be able to “retire” at Summerslam, which is about the time his contract is really set to expire.

So will he hang around and win the WWE title? We will find out July 17th at Money In The Bank.

2012 will turn out to be a massive year for WWE regardless of how WrestleMania 28 turns out. The event alone will set the benchmark for ‘historic’ matches within the company. On one side you have The Rock making a monumental comeback to face-0ff against the biggest superstar of the current generation, John Cena. But on the other hand, there’s a strong possibility that The Rock’s equal counterpart, Stone Cold Steve Austin, may lace-up his boots for one final round of ass-whoopin in Miami, Fl. If you want to know why I think Stone Cold will have One More Match, gimme’ a Hell Yeah! Or…you could just read more after the jump.

It is all but confirmed that The Undertaker has quietly, and unofficially, retired. There’s a huge possibility that the Deadman will have his final match next year at the Grandest Stage Of Them All, and proudly walk into the sunset with a 20-0 blazing above him. Then there’s The Rock vs John Cena, arguably the biggest match since The Rock vs Hulk Hogan. It’s Icon vs Icon. It’s the stuff legends are made of. No matter how the match turns out, it will become the ‘image’ of WrestleMania for years to come. With all these historic matches taking place and Attitude Era superstars returning for one final go-round in the ring, it’s very possible that WWE and Stone Cold could be working on a deal to have the Texas Rattlesnake ‘whoop someone’s ass backwards’ next year.

Hulk Hogan challenged Austin last week via the Internet, stating that he noticed Austin gearing-up for something big in the near future. And it’s true. While I’m almost certain Austin will never want to end his career with Hulk Hogan, the Texas Redneck has definitely been different lately. He was active on WWE programming thanks to Tough Enough, he’s showing some of that “roughneck” attitude that we haven’t seen for a while now, and when he hosted Raw a couple of weeks ago as the Special Guest GM, he literally owned the place and ‘toughened-up’ on the superstars. Add to this list the fact that Austin is in terrific shape, I’d say someone’s really, really hellbent on kicking someone’s backside next year. Maybe it’s the fact that The Rock is back for more, or maybe it’s just Austin itching to feel that adrenaline again. Either way, it’s great news for the fans!

It’s a far-fetched idea and one that may never happen, but if you look at the build-up to this event and considering that this may be the final battle for both Austin and Taker, it only makes sense to book something as huge as this. It definitely beats being a Special Referee for a match as ridiculous as Jerry Lawler vs Michael Cole, or a lousy Hair vs Hair match between two megalomaniacs, or coming out to deliver a Stunner to harmless comedians like Santino. If Stone Cold decides to strap on the boots and put on the vest, it’s got to be for an epic reason, and I can only think of three scenarios. Either he battles Randy Orton and mirrors the intensity of The Rock vs John Cena, or he battles CM Punk in a ‘dream match’ situation, or he takes on someone who he has built a reputation with for years : The Undertaker. Of course, he could take on guys like Triple H and Chris Jericho but I don’t see that really happening.
the firist aktos english magasine Austinbeer

If it’s not the 3 scenarios above, I’d rather not see Austin return. It’s bad enough that he has had some of the stupidest contests with guys like Goldust and The Coach on lackluster PPVs like the now-defunct Cyber Sunday, but making him have a match against someone like Drew McIntyre or Sheamus (not that they’re bad, they’re just not ready to headline yet) will only botch the entire scenario.
Personally I’d love to see Stone Cold go head to head with his arch-nemesis, The Undertaker. It’s safe to say that there is no way The Streak is going to end at this point, so Austin will probably end up losing this battle. There is absolutely no shame in losing to someone like the legendary Undertaker, let alone at WrestleMania in a match for the most coveted winning-streak in sports entertainment. It’ll be a match of epic proportions, one that’ll probably be greater than The Rock vs John Cena in terms of in-ring performance.
In the end though, it’s all up to Austin and if he feels the drive to get back into the ring. If it’s there, great. If it’s not, so be it. If it truly does happen, then WrestleMania 28 will potentially be the greatest WrestleMania of all time.
